Calendar Reservations for Special Events
1. Check the availability in the calendar above and find an open date that works for you. All special events require a host to oversee the event (see #3 below). Please abide by the notes below and our Use of Church Property Guidelines. You will be notified if you need to turn in a signed copy of this form, which is required for events that cover multiple dates or events being reserved by someone not directly connected to our church, Manantial de Vida or the Scouts.
2. Email Pastor Marcus once you are ready to make a reservation (let him know if you are having trouble finding an available date). Please do not text your request, as all communication regarding reservations will be kept track of via email. Include in your first email what the event is for, who the host will be, the day, date & times requested (including time needed for set-up & clean-up), and what you wish to reserve (the whole building, upper or lower level, church yard, fire pit, picnic tables, etc.). Including all this info in your first email saves time and expedites the reservation process.
3. Instructions for the Host: 1) For all special events, someone who has a church key, other than Pastor Marcus (unless he has agreed to do so), needs to serve as the host for the event. This person is responsible for opening & closing the building, assisting with any set-up or preparation needed, and making sure everything is clean when the event is over, including emptying the garbage cans as needed. If you do not have a church key, ask someone who does to serve as the host, or let Pastor Marcus know in your email request that you need assistance finding a host. 2) Once your event is over, please put everything back in it's place. There are two copies of our Church Basement Set-up instruction page hanging up in the basement. One is on the refrigerator door in the kitchen and the other one is on the wall opposite the copy room door. 3) Until further notice, take any extra garbage bags from your event with you (the church currently only has one trash tote, we used to have two). You can fill up the indoor trash cans with trash from your event and throw those trash bags in the outdoor trash tote (if there is room). If there is a lot of garbage from your event, please take the extra trash bags with you, and leave room for at least one more large garbage bag to be thrown in the trash tote, and do not leave trash bags on the ground. 4) Please make sure you do NOT throw any trash in the recycling tote which has a yellow lid and is marked "Recyclables Only" (throw used paper plates, cups, pizza boxes etc. in the garbage). See What to Recycle for more info. Thank you.
4. Reservation Confirmation: Once your reservation has been approved, it will be listed as a special event on the calendar above and you will receive an email confirming your request. Thank you and we hope you enjoy using the church building or church yard for your special event. Blessings.
